A stylish waterfront cottage annexe close to Yarmouth with easy access to explore the unspoilt West Wight coastline.

As part of the renovation to the main house (known as Waterfront house), Waterfront retreat is a lovingly designed cottage annexe with private entrance that has been created with style and relaxation in mind.
If the flourish of designer driftwood ornaments and the pallet of seaside shades don’t transport your imagination to a sandy beach on a warm summer’s day, then the views from the property will do. This Waterfront Retreat is set on the Yarmouth shore making it a truly wonderful base from which to enjoy the delights of seaside living on this beautiful island.
The recently renovated annexe has a lovely kitchen and a beautiful light and airy sitting room which overlooks the main garden, providing plenty of space for you to relax and enjoy your stay. From the master bedroom there are great views over the Solent to the north and far reaching countryside views to the south. Outside is a private enclosed decking area with table, chairs and a BBQ; perfect for alfresco dining at any time of the day. If you are lucky you may even be able to watch the resident family of rare red squirrels at the bottom of the garden.
The attractive seaside town of Yarmouth is the oldest town on the Isle of Wight. Its busy harbour is a haven for all kinds of watercraft with the terminal used for regular mainland ferry crossings to Lymington. Yarmouth’s narrow streets are home to an attractive array of shops and inns and a visit to Henry VIII’s castle is not to be missed.

Historic Reviews

The waterfront retreat is really a hidden gem, the accommodation is outstanding, the decor is homely and there are lovely touches throughout, soft snuggly blankets in the lounge, beautiful essential oils in every room, milk and biscuits on your arrival, its spotlessly clean with a wonderful host, every detail has been carefully thought through to ensure you have a wonderful and relaxing holiday, we canâ’t recommmend the water retreat highly enough

For those not wishing to take the car on outings and to avoid problems with parking, there is a very good bus service from the bus garage in Yarmouth the bus drivers are very helpful and all areas of the Island can be easily reached by bus.

There are so many lovely and interesting places on the island to visit.

What a charming property the Waterfront Retreat is, it is light, airy and beautifully furnished and decorated with a lot of thought and attention plus it has fantastic views of the Solent from the bedroom window making this the ideal location to relax. The decking outside was a real bonus and many an hour was spent there enjoying the wildlife at the bottom of the garden. Our Host was discreet and made sure we could contact her at any time if any problems occurred. The Retreat is the perfect base for exploring the Island and is within easy walking distance of Yarmouth and the ferry. There is also no shortage of places to eat locally which means you do not have to travel if you don’t want to. Yarmouth downs is an ever changing picture and the perfect place for a picnic watching the sun go down. We were so glad we found this little gem and hope to be back soon for another visit.

There is an easy level walk from the property via Rofford Marsh, passing a great Cafe Diner called Off the Rails, excellent coffee and cakes, then into Yarmouth and back along the path by the Solent.
