South Devon has always been a bit of a magnet for those who live for fresh fish and seafood, and so has the No 7 Fish Bistro. Anything the staff of this restaurant don’t know about local fish isn’t worth knowing, and they’ll even bring you a tray filled with the day’s catches and explain each one before you start perusing the menu
The family-run bistro overlooks the harbourside, and much of its fish is caught locally. There’s something exciting about waiting to see what’s available depending on how the day’s fishing went, and the specials board changes constantly to keep even the most avid fish lovers on their toes. Don’t worry if you want to dine as a family and the smaller members of the clan aren’t as keen on fish, there’s a fish-free children’s section on the menu, as well as smaller portions available for those who like to try the same as mum and dad.
Examples of the meals to be sampled at No 7 include lobster and crab straight from the harbour suppliers, creamy curried prawns and filleted fish of the day deep fried in their restaurant’s own special batter. This is Torquay’s only restaurant dedicated to fish and seafood, so enjoy.
