Plymouth Hoe plays host to the biggest free event in the South West every summer - the spectacular British Firework Championships, and they're back for 8th and 9th August. The championships are one of the area's best-loved events, and the Hoe attracts people in their thousands as the skies explode with colour.
The event sees the biggest names in fireworks compete to be crowned Champion of Champions for the year, so the displays are always dramatic, groundbreaking and unforgettable. Join the masses as they ooooh, aaaahhh and cheer the displays as they lighten the skies above the sea and dazzle the crowds below and experience a whole evening of fireworks designed to dazzle.
There's plenty of space for the crowds on the Hoe but get there as early as you can if you want to pick a vantage point before the crowds start to arrive. Just a little tip, try to avoid driving if you can as the event attracts visitors from all over the region so there can be delays getting out of the area.
