Driving in to Settle is a dramatic moment, this small market town is overlooked by rolling fells and a spectacular cliff face known as Castleburg Crag. Towards the centre is a small square surrounded by a two storey building known as the Shambles and some wonderful shops selling locally produced goods and artists' wares. Settle is also a great base for walking on the limestone scars and pavements of the Dales, almost always quiet but surrounded by dry stone walls and plenty of….sheep!
