Our guide to Sennen Holidays

Those looking to make waves on their Cornwall holiday need look no further! Boasting Britain’s most westerly beach, and just one mile from Land’s End, Sennen offers beautiful soft stretches of sand, amazing unspoiled natural scenery and easy access to some of Cornwall’s most amazing attractions.

But let’s start with the beaches. Sennen Cove’s crescent curve and gentle gradient makes it a surfing hotspot with perfect conditions for pros and amateurs alike. The secluded sands of Gwenver are equally appealing (and equally accessible!). Dog friendly and filled with soft golden sand, it’s a tranquil seaside haven; 150 metres of pet-friendly paradise.

There’s plenty more to enjoy too, with incredible family-friendly attractions, amazing places to soak up the region’s culture and heritage and some of the finest food and drink you could wish for on a British break.

Things to do in Sennen

Its prime position against the Atlantic makes surfing one of the most popular ways to enjoy your time in Sennen. Sennen Cove beach offers a range of swells to suit surfers of all abilities. And whether you’re a pro or a budding board star, you can get expert tuition at the two surf schools in spring and summer – with all equipment provided.

More traditional seaside activities in Sennen include building sand castles, rock pooling and paddling in the sea. Explore the beautiful harbour where you will find shops, galleries and amazing eateries serving fresh catches. You can even take to the water yourself and enjoy some sea fishing on a private charter. Or if you’re more interested in scenery then you can catch some of Cornwall’s most attractive coastal sights on a local pleasure boat – both available to rent from the harbour.

On land you also have easy access to the stunning South West Coast Path. Stretch your legs, spot local wildlife and gaze at gorgeous scenery, it’s a wonderful way to work up an appetite!

Sennen attractions

Where to start? Along with being spoiled by stunning views and natural attractions you will also find a range of amazing activities on the south Cornish coast. Visit the Minack Theatre to inject some drama to your break. Reminiscent of a Greek amphitheatre, the coastal views and rocky outcrops offer the perfect setting for a play.

Likewise Land’s End offers a spectacular setting on the very edge of the country, but there’s plenty more to enjoy. Follow in the footsteps of one of Cornwall’s most renowned visitors at the Arthur’s Quest Experience. Using state of the art technology and special effects, this attraction offers a pulse-pounding voyage into the ‘Gorge of Fire’ to face the mythical dragon. Those seeking something a little less strenuous will adore the Aardman attraction ‘A Grand Experience’. Featuring Wallace & Gromit, Morph and Shaun the Sheep, visitors can play fun games inspired by the amazing animations and even visit their settings in an awesome interactive experience.

With a delightful farm park in a glorious setting and the iconic signpost amongst other attractions and events, you won’t want your time at Land’s End to…well, end. Venture further and you have a host of mines, museums and attractions that all explore the history of Sennen and south Cornwall in a wonderfully engaging way.
