Aaaaaah Portwrinkle Beach. This beautiful little corner of the coast has everything you need to enjoy a beachy day in a beautiful setting. There are two beaches in Portwrinkle, and the east beach (Finnygook Beach) is a favourite with experienced surfers and those on family beach holidays.
The beach may only be 18 miles from Devon's Plymouth but it showcases the surf that's made Cornwall famous. There's a little cafe on the cliffs above this beach that's always a great place to have something to eat and watch the surfers enjoying the waves, and it's just the place for that cup of hot chocolate and a cheeky cake.
You’ll find toilets and two car parks (one is owned by the council and the other one is private), and there's a seasonal dog ban enforced at Portwrinkle's West Beach so pets can only join you between October and Easter. Access to the beach is via a steep path, so bringing pushchairs or wheelchairs isn’t recommended. Please bear in mind that bathing can be dangerous at this beach, so check the safety signs for guidance when you arrive.
