Officially designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the Mendip Way can take you along 50 miles of gorgeous landscapes; past gorges, outcrops and hillforts and across amazing grasslands. The nearby villages of Churchill and Sandford offer many activities, including a dry ski slope at the Mendip Snowsport Centre, which is just a couple of minutes walk away, and it offers skiing, tobogganing, snowboarding, archery, canoeing, rock climbing and abseiling.
The local pubs and convenience store are within easy reach, and the property is also just down the road from the famous Thatchers Cider Orchards, where visitors can have tours around the factory and sample the famous West Country cider.
Cheddar Gorge, Cheddar Caves, Wookey Hole Caves, Blagdon Lake, with trout fishing and a wealth of wildlife, and golf are all nearby. The elegant city of Bath, with it’s Roman baths, Glastonbury, Bristol and the cathedral city of Wells are within an easy drive. Weston-super-Mare’s many attractions and sandy beach are just 9 miles away where you can walk along the promenade, sunbathe on the beach, or try winning something in one of the amusement arcades. Bristol Airport is just a 12-minute drive from the property.
