Cornwall National Seal Sanctuary

Things To Do

Here’s an attraction that’s guaranteed to put a smile on your face - Cornwall National Seal Sanctuary in Helston. The sanctuary is just a 40 minute drive away from beautiful St Ives and it’s well worth the journey. Cornwall National Seal Sanctuary rescues and rehabilitates seals, and visitors can meet the seriously cute collection of grey and common seals housed within its pools.

The sanctuary’s focus is on rehabilitation, so most of the seals stay at the sanctuary until they’re ready to return to the sea. Because of the nature of the attraction we can’t promise which seals you get to meet, but there are always recovering pups and seals on hand to welcome friendly faces on any given day.

There are also sea lions, otters, penguins and a selection of farm animals, and many are surprised to learn that dogs are welcome throughout the sanctuary on leads. In fact it’s been names by Cesar as a leading dog friendly attraction. The Cornwall National Seal Sanctuary is open every day of the year, except for Christmas Day.

There are talks and feeds throughout each day so visitors can see up close just how much work goes into caring for the seals so that they can return to the wild.
