If you want to walk the New Forest and you’re not quite sure where to start then a guided walk’s a great way to start exploring this colourful national park. The walks are guided by local experts who know everything there is to know about the landscape and the wildlife that calls it home, and walks come in various levels of difficulty so they suit every type of walker.
If you fancy walking as a family or small group you can hire one of the park’s private guides and tailor a route to suit you although the organised walking events are easier on the holiday budget (and the picnic walks are one of the nicest ways to experience the area). The walking picnics are every bit as quaint as they sound and they’re held regularly throughout the year. The picnics even include fresh local produce so you’ll be able to sample some of the county’s produce on your day out exploring its scenery…see they’ve thought of everything!
Many of the walks are organised by official New Forest rangers (and let’s face it, you won’t find a guide who knows the area better than one of these guys) and they work hard to make the walks great fun for all ages.
