What is it with Weymouth and events? It’s that destination that always manages to go the extra mile and make a celebration one you’ll remember for a long time to come. So, if you’re going to be in Dorset and you want to make Bonfire Night in style it’s time to get ready for the annual Guy Fawkes celebrations on the seafront.
As you’d imagine, most of the evening centres around the firework display, but there’s also a fun fair, a bonfire on the beach and a Guy Fawkes competition to entertain the crowds who turn up in their thousands. When darkness falls and the lights twinkle on the seafront, it’s all eyes to the sky for a firework display from 8pm, and the whole event’s free.
You’ll find the fairground on the forecourt outside Weymouth Pavilion from 3pm, and if you’re keen to see the winner of the Guy Fawkes competition announced then make sure you’re in the building’s foyer at6.45pm.
