Appledore is a small fishing village, on the North Devon coast, with a long history of sea-farers. Shipbuilding is still carried out today in Appledore Shipyards, a brilliant place to explore a bit of maritime history. The village, stretched along the river, is small with attractive walks along the quay and towards Bideford or Westward Ho!. Car parking is available in Pay Car Parks, although these get busy during the summer months.
