Combesgate Beach is smaller than some of the other Woolacombe beaches, but this sandy cove is a great choice for those who fancy a quiet day on the beach away from the crowds. The beach offers good swimming, surf and of course plenty of opportunity to make sand castles.
Surfers should note that it’s best to surf at low tide, and rocks prevent any surf after mid-tide. Combesgate Beach lies to the far right of Woolacombe Beach, but can only be accessed at certain tide times, so it’s best to check them out before you go. Please note that there are 102 steps leading down to the beach, so it’s a good idea to travel light if you’re going to visit this one.
