Woodland Retreat

Woodland Retreat

Wadebridge, Cornwall

Discover how it feels to wake up surrounded by 100 acres of tranquil Cornwall countryside with a stay in one of our Woodland Retreat cottages. This is the kind of place where you soon forget the rest of the world and life feels as though it’s always been one relaxing retreat, and there’s so much to do without leaving the resort that it’ll be days before you even start exploring nearby Bodmin, Wadebridge and the rest of the county.

You’ll follow sleepy winding lanes around the resort until you reach your home from home, and each one makes a relaxing base for those of you keen to embrace Cornwall life. So what’s life at Woodland Retreat all about? Well, you can take the plunge in the site’s heated swimming pool, take some time out in the Jacuzzi, or feel your worries float away in the warmth of the steam room.

If you’re feeling active, there’s always time for a workout at the fitness centre, or you can challenge your party to a match on the tennis courts. There’s a pool for the children, as well as a playground to keep them busy and good old crazy golf for the whole family. For those days when you just want to take in the sights and sounds of the countryside, follow one of the site’s walking trails and see what you can see.

We know you’re probably wondering when you’ll find time to venture from the resort and start exploring, but trust us, it’s worth it. You’ll find the sandy beaches and famous seafood restaurants of Padstow just 20 minutes away by car, and you’ll be able to find out for yourself why Bodmin Moor formed the backdrop to the BBC’s Poldark.

There’s nothing quite like a leisurely dip during your holiday, and the Woodland Retreat resort has a stylish indoor pool so you can unwind in style. When did you last start your day with a few moments of peace and quiet lying back in the pool? Make sure you pack that holiday swimming costume and you’ll be free to enjoy the onsite pool during your stay.

Better still, there's a bubbling Jacuzzi just waiting to soothe weary limbs and rejuvenate you after a busy day exploring...what more could you need?

We can’t really imagine a place more suited to a good old walk than North Cornwall…with the dramatic Bodmin Moor (so scenic it forms the backdrop to much of the Poldark series in fact), the Camel Trail and The Cornish Way beckoning those of you who enjoy a hike.

Whether you’re happy to explore the onsite trails and cycle paths or you’re keen to get your boots on and tackle one of the region’s popular trails, it’s just a question of choosing the one for you. To be honest, no matter which way you walk you’ll pass some of Cornwall’s most stunning landscape so it’s win win.

The Camel Trail follows what used to be a railway line, which means it’s blissfully flat and makes for an easy walk, and you can hire bikes in Wadebridge if you want to cycle a section of the 18 mile route.

One of the nicest things about spending time at Woodland Retreat is that its onsite facilities make it easy to spend time outdoors and get active, and there’s even a tennis court for those of you who fancy showing off your serve to the rest of your group.

The communal tennis courts mean you can challenge your family to a match at your leisure, and what better way to make the most of your time in Cornwall than by letting off steam on the courts? For those days when you’d rather stay inside, table tennis  means you can still have a great time.

If you like to stay in shape during your holiday then you’re in luck, the fitness suite at Woodland Retreat means you can take time out to keep up with your workout routine during your stay.

With plenty of space to enjoy a work out at your own pace and the usual selection of equipment to choose from, the fitness centre’s a great way to work off those holiday treats before a long soak in the Jacuzzi or a dip in the pool…well you are on holiday after all!

For the kids

Woodland Retreat is a great base for families looking for some time out, and for those days when you’re content to stay close to your home from home, you’ll find all kinds of ways to keep the kids entertained. There's even professional childcare available for those times when you fancy some 'grown up' time.

The children’s playground means they can enjoy the Great Outdoors and make memories at the same time, and the children’s pool’s always a favourite for those times when they want to cool off and spend some time in the water. And the table tennis means they can spend many a happy hour battling to see if they can become holiday champion!
