You’ll find Wherrytown Beach between Penzance and Newlyn, and it’s one of those that’s often missed by visitors to the area but is actually a nice little find. With safe swimming (although please note there’s no lifeguard cover) and gorgeous views across to the enchanting St Michael’s Mount this beach is a picturesque place to spend time. Wherrytown is a pebble beach so it’s better for a wander with the family or for the children to enjoy the water than for those of you who like to lie back on the sand and soak up the sun.
There aren’t many facilities here, but on the plus side there’s a green and play area nearby so if you’re entertaining children for a day you can pop over if they have enough fun by the sea. There’s good news for those planning a holiday in the area with their pets too, as dog owners should note that this is one of a few beaches in the area that welcomes dogs on it all year round.
