Newquay can be a bit busy during July and August for relaxed strolls with the dog, but our four-legged friends are allowed on most of the beaches all year round. The beach of beaches, Fistral Beach welcomes dogs throughout the year and you’ll soon understand why it’s one of the UK’s most popular stretches of coast. Fistral is surrounded by dramatic headland, and its views out to sea are incredible. Take advantage of the chance to walk your dog beside the sprawling golden sands and watch the surfers trying their luck out at sea.
It may be a little further out, but if you prefer to walk your pet away from the rest of Newquay’s fans then Crantock Beach is the place for you. This sandy beach is pretty impressive once the tide goes out, and dogs are allowed all year round.
In true Newquay style you’ll find great surf, and the dunes that frame the beach make good dog walking terrain too. In fact, the dunes sprawl for quite some way behind the sand, so there’s plenty of room to enjoy a good old leg stretch with your pet during your visit. There’s a car park just behind the dunes.
