In fact, it’s been long listed for a Telegraph Family Friendly Museum Award – and it’s got an open, airy feel to it that makes it a contemporary setting to learn and discover. Voted Large Visitor Attraction of the Year 2012 by the Cornwall Tourism Awards, the museum is a stone’s throw from Falmouth’s infamous harbour (the world’s third largest don’t you know!) and it’s open daily.

The museum is located right on the waterfront, and its Out Look Tower has some of the best views for miles, so you can spend as much time as you like gazing out at the harbour beneath you and off to the horizon.
