One weekend each October sees those who love real ale descend on Falmouth to celebrate it, and it’s Cornwall’s biggest beer festival.
Due to its increasing popularity the event now sprawls across several venues, so you’ll find the centre of it all in the theatre of the Pavilions, and cider and perry out in the marquee found in the gardens. There’s always plenty of opportunity to sample the county’s finest produce and real ales, and a typical year sees more than two hundred to choose from.
The ciders and perries hold their own too, and fans will find dozens to take their pick from in the pretty gardens – it sounds like the perfect autumn afternoon to us. The Falmouth Beer Festival is organised and held by CAMRA Kernow, Cornwall’s branch of the Campaign for Real Ale, so expect expert knowledge and a huge range to tempt you. The alcoholic ginger beer is always a popular choice throughout the festival, and there’s good news for those of you who will be driving – soft drinks are free.
This is one of Falmouth’s friendliest festival, and whether you take your ale seriously or you simply fancy something different during a Falmouth holiday you’ll be more than welcome to join the fun. There are more and more beers available with every year, so we’re sure you’ll find something you love. There’s always live music to keep the crowds entertained, so don’t miss out on this popular Falmouth event.
