Castle Beach is the most northerly beach in the collection that surround Falmouth and it’s popular with snorkellors, divers and rock poolers. Castle Beach is a fairly small Falmouth Beach but on the plus side it’s easy walking distance from the town and it’s a scenic spot to while away a few hours as a family.
Overlooked by the dramatic Pendennis Castle, the beach is a favourite with picnickers - how many opportunities will you get to enjoy lunch beneath a Tudor castle after all?! This shingle beach has plenty of nearby parking on the main road, a seasonal dog ban, toilet facilities and a cafe. Fancy stretching your legs? Start walking from the Pendennis Castle end of the sand and you’ll find the beach connects with Tunnel Beach.
Bear in mind that most of the beach will be covered when the tide comes in so check the times carefully. Access to the beach is fairly easy but there are several steps to reach it, so Gyllyngvase Beach may be the better choice for those with pushchairs or wheelchairs.
