Bude, Cornwall

Wooda is a family-run resort making it the perfect setting for your family break. We’re thinking morning yoga sessions, lazy lunches in the onsite restaurant and reigniting your sense of adventure with long sun-dappled walks along woodland trails.

With Bude’s coast within easy reach and plenty to keep you busy in the surrounding area, Wooda has everything from a restaurant and bar, to a playground for the kids and a shower for the dog.

Every holiday home at Wooda has panoramic sea views from where you can relax as the sun dips below the horizon of the Atlantic Ocean. Your only decision will be which accommodation to choose.

Let’s start with the foodie side of things… The Courtyard Bar & Grill serves up some home-cooked meals from the Mibrassa Grill. Children are welcome too, and if you’re bringing your pet, he’ll be welcome in the courtyard’s undercover seating area.

In the summer, local artists add to the atmosphere with live music in the bar, so you can enjoy a meal or a drink under the canopy while they create a laidback feel. The menu includes everything from yummy steaks, to kebabs and chicken dishes, and there’s something to suit every visitor. And for those evenings when you fancy dining back at home, The Lodge Takeaway serves up the usual favourites.

Woodland walks

It’s always lovely to have some woodland walks right on your doorstep, and the circular route that takes you through the woods is a lovely way to get the family exploring the landscape. Keep your eyes peeled for wildlife as you make your way along the nature trail, and the route’s flat enough for pushchairs if you have younger members of the family keen not to miss out.

The woodland walk’s a great way to start a lazy day, or to spend a sunny afternoon in the fresh air, and what a way to enjoy the setting without having to pack the family into the car. In fact, there’s a mountain bike trail too, so if you’re bringing your bikes with you, you’ll be able to enjoy the woodland on two wheels.

Whether you want to experience Chi yoga beneath the canopy of woodland, show off your skills on the tennis court or fish the pond for carp, you’ll have your choice of activities for an additional charge. There’s also Pitch n Putt, badminton in the Sports Barn, indoor archery, a fitness suite, and you can even book yourself a surfing or a canoeing lesson.

If all that action leaves you ready for some serious pampering, book yourself a treatment at the Hannah Rose beauty salon. Hannah offers a range of beauty treatments to help you embrace that holiday feeling, and what better way to start your stay?

For the kids

Now for the younger members of the family…and the resident farm animals always make a stay extra special for younger guests. The pigmy goats, chickens and lambs on the farm are always happy to meet friendly faces, and children love to visit them during their stay. The animals aren’t the only perks of staying on a farm though, as the kids can enjoy tractor and trailer rides on Monday afternoons (free of charge).

There’s an indoor games and TV room, so if the older kids want to make new friends or enjoy some leisure time on a wet day, they’ll have use of the pool tables, table tennis table and the TV until 11pm each day. And for the toddlers, the toddler play room has been carefully designed with little people in mind. There’s a Wendy House, a slide, toys, bean bags, books, and everything you need to keep your toddler happy in between adventures.

For the dogs

We know that, for dogs, life at the resort is all about the walks. There’s something special about enjoying pastures new with your pet in tow, and it’s great news for owners that dogs are more than welcome to make the most of the resort’s gorgeous setting.

Not only are dogs welcome to enjoy the woodland trail and nature trail, but there’s also a dog walking area where your pet can run free and stretch his legs for mile after happy mile. They’ve thought of everything too, because there’s even a dog shower for you to rinse your pet from sand or mud after those blissful adventures enjoying the local area.
