Sandsifter is the kind of pub that makes holiday evenings everything they should be...it’s nestled in the dunes of St Ives Bay and no matter what you order from the bistro bar it’ll taste all the better for the views over Gwithian Beach.
When the Hayle and St Ives surf set have finished riding the waves for a day this is the place they head to, so Sandsifter has a great atmosphere where there’s always something going on – and everyone’s welcome. There’s free Wi-Fi for all customers (so you can check to see who’s liked your surfing pictures from earlier in the day!) and the bistro serves hot and cold refreshments in an informal setting. Dogs are welcome inside and out, and the pub hosts regular live gigs throughout the summer.
Sandy shoes, damp hair and slightly sunburnt face...they’ve seen and welcomed it all at this beachside pub, and you’ll find plenty of parking onsite. The menu includes all the usual pub favourites such as burgers (often buy one get one free by the way), steaks and cakes, and you’ll even find prawns and other tastes of the sea. The produce is locally sourced as often as possible, and we hear the fresh Cornish fish is pretty special to say the least.
