With so much history to take in during your Wisbech holiday, there’s only one place to visit to make sure you don’t miss a thing – the beautiful Wisbech & Fenland Museum. The museum showcases exhibitions that change throughout the year, but one of the most exciting artefacts is the original manuscript of the Charles Dickens novel 'Great Expectations'.
The manuscript can usually be seen by visitors on the first Saturday of each month, so if you’re a fan of the literary greats then this is a must. The museum dates all the way back to 1847, and it’s a lovely place to while away an hour or two and enjoy the calm during your stay in the area. You’ll find artefacts from recent local and global history, and there are activities to make a visit great fun for the younger members of the family too. Make sure you check what's showing at the museum before you go along, as it hosts some of the region's most interesting exhibitions each year.
