Family time at Beyond Escapes in Devon

A welcomed break...

As I am a booking adviser at Blue Chip Holidays, I spend my working life matching guests to their ideal property. So, to be able to sample a Blue Chip Holidays property and take my family with me with for the experience was incredible. So we all were excited to be staying in Lodge No 2 at Beyond Escapes. Pulling off the main road to join the country lanes to Beyond Escapes put us in typical Devon Countryside.

Beyond Escapes was easy to find and we were checked into our lodge swiftly by the helpful reception staff. My excited five-year-old boy Leo was stripping off his clothes as soon as we got through the door in eager anticipation to jump into the hot tub. I can assure you we were not disappointed. Sitting in the hot bubbles staring at the surrounding trees and the blue sky was completely relaxing. Even with a 5-year-old trying to swim backwards and forwards in the water around me.

Once I managed to drag my son out of the hot tub and change we then managed to have a proper look around the Lodge. The lodge was immaculate and spacious, and all the furniture and fittings were of a high quality. All the little touches were thought about, with complimentary toiletries, and slippers and luxury dressing gowns to borrow in the master bedroom. Guest will also find a scrumptious, Devon cream tea in the fridge waiting for them.

The Royal Wedding was on that day, so I parked myself on the comfy sofa, cracked open the prosecco and demanded absolute silence while I watched it. Once the Wedding was over Leo needed to expel some energy, so we took a walk down the lane to stretch our legs and take in the scenery. From the Lane, you can look straight down to the sea at Paignton and to your right, you can view the open countryside. Leo was excited to pick up a huge pine cone that he insisted came back home with us.

It was a scorcher of a day, so we had a drink at the Beyond Escapes bar seated on an outside table directly in the sun. From our position, we could view the site and the surrounding trees and grass and watch the comings and goings of the staff and guests. After we had finished our drinks we wandered back to our Lodge.

My husband Mark got his own back on me for watching Royal Wedding, by watching the FA cup final…. from the hot tub. He enthusiastically worked out, that if you sat in the corner of the hot tub you can see the television through the patio doors. We all went to bed that night relaxed and happy as we had a fantastic break but also a little sad, as we had to go back to reality the next day.

I thoroughly recommend a break at Beyond Escapes if you are looking to unwind and to relax while on holiday. You can take in a pampering treatment or sweat it out in the gym or bubble away in your very own hot tub. Beyond Escapes is suitable for young children and families and young or older couples as Beyond Escapes caters for all. Myself and my family have definitely made lasting memories here and would love to visit again.
