A family stay at 8 Quay Court

We took our brood to check out 8 Quay Court in Newquay

As a family of five we need a bit of space when we go away, so when I got the chance to stay in 8 Quay Court in Newquay I was pretty excited. Properties with 4 bedrooms or more in the area aren’t as plentiful as you would think, so 8 Quay Court allowed us the chance to visit one of the South West’s most famous family destinations.

We arrived on a pretty overcast day, but once we were inside the property we all spent a few minutes enjoying the view over Newquay and out to sea and bright and welcoming feeling that our home for the next few days provided.

Feeling at home very quickly we set about the task of preparing lunch and were immediately impressed by the well equipped kitchen. The inclusion of a range of children’s plates, bowls etc was great and we made use of the highchair (as well as the travel cot) available in the property.

Post lunch we walked into Newquay and within five minutes found ourselves in town enjoying a surprisingly sunny afternoon.  Newquay has something for everyone and we enjoyed having the chance explore the town, its beaches and finally its amusements. There’s something quintessentially British about putting two pence pieces into a machine, so it would be rude not to partake in this puzzling pastime.

With the children asleep, being able to watch the sunset cast its changing hues into the living room was a perfect end to a great day. The exceptionally comfortable beds afforded us all a restful night’s sleep and the morning brought plans to use some of the many outdoor activity items supplied at the property.  Our choice was buckets and spades, our destination was Fistral Beach and the weather was looking promising. Fistral is a great beach and it was our little girl Florence’s first ever beach trip, it would good to say it was a successful trip but that would be stretching the truth!

Beach disaster behind us, we enjoyed another great meal back at our holiday home, followed later by another glorious sunset.   There's nothing better than watching the sun set over the sea and being able to enjoy it from the sofa is a real bonus.

We had a great time in Newquay, it has plenty to do both in the town itself and further afield.  We loved 8 Quay Court and feel it is really well suited to families or multi-generation groups.  The home has been put together lovingly and you can’t help but feel comfortable and welcome from the moment you arrive.  I know we will be returning to 8 Quay Court in the future, I just hope there will be availability!
