10 spots for a South West selfie

10 spots for a South West selfie

Come on, everybody does it – especially on holiday, so we’ve had a think about the best places in the beautiful South West for you lot to perfect your hair and pucker up for a selfie to treasure forever.

1. The Surfie Selfie

First, it’s the all-important holiday action shot. The selfie that says “look at me, I’m active, I can (just about) surf and I don’t even mind having my selfie with wet hair” – and that’s got to be the Newquay surf lesson selfie.

2. The Sunset Selfie

Now there’s one ‘selfie must’ for any loved-up couple smooching their way around the region and that’s the sunset by the sea shot, and where better to take it than in palm-lined Torquay?

3. The Eden Selfie

If you’ve never done a selfie that looks like you’re flying then you’re missing a trick. Luckily, the Eden Project has a rainforest treetop walk experience that’s just the place to capture said snap…

4. The Cultural Selfie

This one’s for the grudging selfie snappers amongst you. The walkers who think the whole business is a bit silly yet secretly wouldn’t mind capturing that special view you trekked your way to, so we’d recommend the extremely beautiful Durdle Door…after all, no one can judge you if it’s cultural.

5. The Wow Factor Selfie

Lastly, every holiday album needs the selfie with the ‘wow’ factor backdrop, and with a famous light that’s attracted artists to it for centuries it’s got to be beautiful St Ives. It has clear water and everything.

6. The Lamb Selfie

Everybody say aaaaaaw because this one’s going to have your friends clicking like as if there’s no tomorrow. Pennywell Farm in Devon lets kids feed lambs by bottle, and if that doesn’t shout photo opportunity then we don’t know what does.

7. The Shark Selfie

This one’s for the clowns amongst you…the “there’s a shark above your head” selfie. Best taken at Bournemouth’s sea life centre (unless you have a better way of capturing this), it may require patience while you lurk in the glass tunnel but boy will it be worth it.

8. The Windswept Dartmoor Selfie

Aaaah Dartmoor, a place of breathtaking scenery, endless walking options and best of all…miles and miles of prime selfie scenery. #views

9. The Dad Selfie

Now we know dads can take a bit more convincing to join in with the old selfie craze, but even they can’t refuse one on a steam train. The South Devon Railway's historic steam trains make the perfect places to (carefully) pose for a nostalgic snap with the folks.

10. The "I'm Flying" Selfie

As if we’d forget the Isle of Wight. If you clamber aboard the chair lift that glides visitors elegantly above The Needles there’s a classic selfie just waiting to be claimed as you float past the famous rocks.
