So you’re all familiar with the ‘Dracula’ story inspired by Bram Stoker’s visit to Whitby Abbey, but here’s your opportunity to actually experience the gloom, suspense and fright that made the novel so enduring. The Dracula Experience is a nerve-shredding attraction that uses animated scenes, special effects and live actors to create an experience visitors to Whitby won’t be forgetting in a hurry.
Enter the attraction and you’ll be greeted with a foreboding warning from Count Dracula that’ll have you wondering whether you should ever have stepped foot inside...and things only become more sinister as the show begins to unfold.
The attraction has been bringing Whitby’s darker side to life for more than fifteen years, and the building itself is as fascinating as the tale behind Dracula. Once home to Sir Isaac Newton, the property started out as a captain’s reading room and has a creepy atmosphere that only adds to this spine-tingling experience. The attraction's open every day throughout the summer and on weekends between November and Easter, and the live actors appear during school holidays.
Children are welcome but please note that this attraction may not be for everyone.
