Skipton Boat Trips

Things To Do

If you think the Yorkshire Dales look spectacular from dry land, just wait until you admire them from the water. Skipton Boat Trips run regular tours up and down the Skipton Canal, entertaining passengers with quirky commentaries and enabling them to sit back and watch the scenery that’s made Skipton one of Yorkshire’s best-loved resorts roll slowly by.

Trips tend to leave at 12 noon and then hourly throughout the afternoon, and there’s always the option to take things into your own hands and hire a boat for a day. Groups can enjoy the fun of navigating the canal without a skipper, and as there are no locks along the way (only bridges) it’s easy enough to pick up even if you’ve no experience.

The guided tours include commentaries from a local comedian, so all points of interest along the way will be highlighted in Dave Spikey’s own special way and the Sunday roast cruises include a traditional Sunday lunch as you glide along the canal.

If you find yourselves in Skipton during the Christmas period then the Magical Santa Cruises make a festive visit to Skipton for the little ones, and Santa not only enjoys the cruise too but he’ll also make time to chat to every child while they tuck into festive treats with the mums and dads.
