Peasholm Park

Peasholm Park

Things To Do

Who remembers The Willow Pattern Story? Well, Peasholm Park isn’t only beautiful but it was also designed around the romantic tale, and it’s one of Scarborough’s most impressive family attractions. The lake at the centre of the park has a wooded island in the middle, and the pagoda that looms high above the park makes this an impressive place to spend time on a summer’s day.

Visitors to the park are welcome to hop in one of the dragon-headed pedalo boats (or sit back in one of the swans and let someone else steer) and they can hop out and wander the island for some peace and quiet. The sounds of live music can often be heard wafting across the water from the island’s bandstand, and as picnics are welcome this is a popular spot to just sit back for an afternoon and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

The park is home to dozens of winding paths, and since dogs are welcome throughout the year it’s always a favourite with owners keen to enjoy the trails with their pets. The oriental bridge that connects the island to the main park gives Peasholm a unique appearance and makes it a fascinating place to enjoy some time out.
