North Bay Railway is a historic miniature railway and one of Scarborough’s best-loved family attractions. Passengers can hop aboard for a 10 minute journey between Peasholm Park and Scalby Mills (home to the Sea Life Centre) and enjoy stunning views across North Bay along the way.
The railway isn’t only a handy way to save on a walk, but it’s also good fun too. Dogs are welcome aboard and the trains are suitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs, so this attraction welcomes all and operates all year round. There are regular weekend services during the winter, and as the attraction marks its 82nd year it’s officially the oldest miniature seaside railway in the UK.
The North Bay Railway is also home to a water chute, a boating lake and Water Walkers so children will be able to carry on having a great time even when the journey ends. The Glass House Cafe and Bistro serves up hot meals and snacks to keep passengers fed and watered during their visit, and the Scampi Shack specialises in seafood. Please note that this attraction only accepts cash.
