The village of Haworth winds the clock back once every year in May for the Haworth 1940s Weekend. The village transforms as it celebrates everything that was brilliant about the era, and everyone’s welcome in full fancy dress. The event programme includes a display of vintage vehicles, a flyover from a Dakota, dances and talks from very special guests on topics related to the 1940s.
Whether you’ve always had an interest in the war years and history, or you just fancy enjoying something different in a beautiful setting, the event welcomes visitors and gets more popular with each year. It’s best to book your parking ahead or use the free vintage shuttle bus as the traffic can be heavy around the village, but the best way to arrive in style has got to be via steam train on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway .
