Now where do we start with The Yorke Arms? This Michelin Star holder is run by one of the finest female chefs in the country, and not only has it held onto its star since 2003 but it was also named Number One Restaurant in the UK by The Good Food Guide in 2008. As if that’s not enough, the restaurant came third in the Sunday Times list of Best UK Restaurants in 2013.
This 18th century coaching house couldn’t be more picturesque if it tried, and it’s enveloped by the rolling hills of the Nidderdale Valley. The restaurant may have a traditional setting, but its menus are renowned for creative food served in style and its head chef serves up local produce with imagination.
There’s a tasting menu for those of you who always end up with food envy when your companions’ meals arrive, and the restaurant has a warm atmosphere that means you can enjoy some of the finest food in the country in a relaxing environment. One of only six female Michelin chefs in the whole of the UK, Frances Atkins is a Fellow of the Masterchefs of Great Britain as well as co-owner of the restaurant, and her talent shines through every dish on the extensive menu.
