Scarborough is home to the kind of sandy beaches that have the space and facilities to suit every kind of visitor, and Filey Beach around a 20 minute drive away offers something a little bit different for those days when you fancy leaving the deckchair and stretching your legs.
The Seafront Sculpture Trail is a leisurely walk that features a selection of unique artworks inspired by the area’s history. The sculptures are the handiwork of artist Russ Coleman, and visitors can wander the seafront in their own time and take them in as they go. The trail graces Filey’s traditional seafront, and as its sandy beach is 5 miles long the sculptures make walking it even more enjoyable.
Filey is home to the kind of golden sandy beach that will make children’s eyes light up when they first see it so it’s a great place for a family walk during a stay in the area. The town isn’t only known for its beach though...Filey also has something of a reputation for serving up some of Yorkshire’s finest fish and chips, so why not grab a butty and rest your legs after wandering the trail?
