When Ed stayed at Rockfish Cottage

When Ed stayed at Rockfish Cottage

Description

We sent Blue Chip Bookings Advisor Ed for a short stay in our new property, Rockfish Cottage in Brixham, and he was kind enough to let us all know how he found it...

When arriving at Rockfish Cottage, the first thing that struck me was the great location. The property is literally a two minute walk from Brixham’s historic harbourside, and it's so close that when you stand at the door of the property you can see the boats pass by and smell the fresh sea air.

As we stepped in to the property, I was taken aback by the standard of the décor. The property is modern and fresh throughout, but still manages to capture the nautical theme that reflects the property's seaside location. The space has been used really well throughout, and the open plan living and kitchen space was a pleasure to spend time in. The property is perfect for a couple's retreat.

The modern and stylish theme continues into the bathroom where there's a fantastic double sized shower. All the fixtures and fittings are of a high standard and the bathroom is a really comfortable place to get ready for an evening meal at one of the local seafood restaurants.

The bedroom maximises the space well, and there’s plenty of storage space in the large cupboards provided. There’s a bedside table and light on either side of the bed which is helpful for reading after a busy day enjoying Brixham's sights. The bed is really comfortable and the sheets are of a very high standard.

During my stay at Rockfish Cottage, I visited a fantastic restaurant called Pepper Shack that serves a range of Caribbean food, as well as some traditional seaside favourites. I would recommend a visit to this place for anyone visiting the area if they fancy something a bit different.

There are also many pubs in the area which serve a range of great drinks, and as many of them are huddled around the harbour area there's plenty of opportunity to watch the sun sink behind the sea while you enjoy an evening drink. The property is also very well located for those who would like to explore the coast around Torbay and take in the sights.

All in all I would recommend Rockfish Cottage as a welcoming place for a couple’s retreat by the sea. The property is small but very comfortable and is positioned in a beautiful location.
