The South West Coast Path

The South West Coast Path runs through Westward Ho!, and is a Westward Ho! attraction in itself! Also, with The Tarka Trail close to the village too you’ll be spoilt for choice.

Whether you hire bikes and cycle the flat Tarka Trail to enjoy the North Devon scenery, or whether you choose to walk a section of the beautiful South West Coast Path, both make for a lovely way to spend a day exploring the area. Northam Burrows

If you only visit one Westward Ho! family attraction that gives you a glimpse of the fantastic North Devon countryside make it Northam Burrows Country Park. Close to the beautiful Westward Ho! Beach, Northam Burrows is open to walkers all year round sits within a Designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

With over 250 hectares of grassland and coastal plain, Northam Burrows is also a Site of Special Scientific Interest, and if you time your visit between May and September you can pop into the visitor centre and find out why! The rich wildlife to see on your visit includes some rarer birdlife.
