Hands up who loves a bit of garlic? Well this one’s for those of you who like A LOT…the Isle of Wight Garlic Festival is all set to spice things on the Wight from 15 – 16 August. This year’s extra special guest will be the one and only Rachel Khoo, and she’ll be joined by some of the region’s finest local producers in the live food theatre to demonstrate just how much you can do with the simple clove of garlic…sounds yummy.
The festival is one of the Isle of Wight’s most popular foodie events, and the programme’s packed with live demonstrations, a book signing by Rachel Khhoo (author of Rachel Khoo’s Kitchen Notebook and Little Paris Kitchen), and a giant garlic marquee packed with locally grown garlic.
The festival attracts some of the biggest names in cooking, and foodie experts and local chefs will be on hand throughout the weekend to offer hints, tips and inspiration for those of you who just can’t get enough of garlic.
Like all foodie festivals, there’ll be no need to eat before you arrive as the festival includes plenty of opportunity to sample the local produce. The big beer tent’s just the place to whet your whistle before wandering the cream tea tent, ice cream stalls, pickles, pastries…you name it – it’ll be there!
