Agatha Christie FestivalThe annual Agatha Christie Festival will run from 12-19 September - and this year’s celebrations will be extra special as they mark the 120 anniversary of her birth. The week-long festival will include a wide range of quaint Agatha Christie-themed Torquay events that fans of her works will love. Hop aboard the 1940s vintage bus to explore Agatha Christie’s Torquay and South Devon in style! This fun outing includes a visit to Agatha Christie’s picturesque former home, Greenway House and Gardens beside the River Dart.

Torbay Royal RegattaThe waters of Torbay will shimmer with coloured sails from 20-25 August. The annual Torbay Sailing Regatta includes a wide range of events and activities for the whole family, as well as the opportunity to spectate the thrilling races themselves! The races will include Dinghy racing in Babbacombe and yacht racing in Brixham and Royal Torbay, and are a real treat for those staying in Torquay holiday accommodation. As part of the regatta, there will be a firework display on 23 August and a display by the Red Arrows at 6pm on 25.

Christmas CarnivalThe Torquay Christmas Carnival is by far the most festive of Torquay events and is a must-see for guests of holiday accommodation in Torquay. The cheerful carnival will work its way through Torquay and the town centre as the Christmas lights are switched on – festivities start at 4.30pm so make sure you grab a good spot! A Santa will even be in town for the event, so why not pop in to say hello at his grotto on Fleet Walk? The carnival will finish around 6pm. The town centre will be closed to traffic, so it is advisable to walk if possible. The carnival starts at Lymington Road and will finish at Torquay harbourside.

Summer Evening IlluminationsThose who head to Babbacombe Model Village after dark during the summer will be greeted with a shimmering spectacle! The miniature world is illuminated by thousands of tiny lights from 8pm every evening, with magical results. The glittering illuminations are a magical sight and this nightly Torquay event will dazzle the whole family. The evening illuminations are open from 8pm with the last entry at 9pm. The event runs every evening between 25 July and 3 September. Daytime tickets for the Model Village are valid for the evening illuminations, so visitors can return in the evening at no extra charge.

Apple Day, CockingtonSunday 17th October is Apple Day at Cockington-one of the best-loved Torquay events! Celebrate autumn and the harvest season with a day of delicious food, family entertainment and local crafts. Fascinating apple pressing demonstrations will be held throughout the day, and few can resist taking home a bottle of the freshest apple juice – some even use it to ferment their own cider! Children enjoy the fresh country air and take advantage of the many activities available throughout the day. There is parking in Cockington village and at the court, although Apple Day attracts many so the car parks can get busy.
