This stunning section of The South West Coast Path stretches for 3.8 miles and is a paradise if you want to experience some of the most spectacular rugged coast line and sweeping sea views that South Devon has to offer. As you walk across this lovely route, you’ll encounter picturesque villages complete with thatched cottages and local inns. Throughout the year you will find a variety of interesting and beautiful birds including Stonechats, Wheatears, Fulmars and unusual gulls, making this route truly fascinating for both adults and children.
The Thurlestone to Bantham walk is particularly good for families. The path is fairly even, and children are sure to love the sandy beaches and sand dunes. Both Bantham and Thurlestone have the most wonderful sandy beaches and will be great fun for children to play on. Once you arrive at Bantham, you'll be able to relax, watch the surfers and enjoy the breathtaking view across to Burgh Island.
