Christmas comes early for art lovers in Brighton this December as artists and makers fling open their doors and declare open house. Part of the bi annual Artists Open Houses event, the idea behind the festival is to enable art fans to buy pieces directly from the artists and to enable as many fans to access it as possible, and it’s great fun too.
Artists spruce up their homes and studios and open them to art lovers from all over the country, and whether you’re just happy to browse and experience this unique event or you’ve got your eye on some bargains, it’s one of Brighton’s biggest annual happenings. The festival’s free for all and everyone’s welcome, and you can expect to browse ceramics, jewellery, textiles, paintings, sculptures, photography and all kinds of other arts and crafts.
One of the things we love about the event is that you’ll be able to get to know the artists behind the work, and it’s a rare opportunity to have the artist on hand to chat about the piece you’re buying. The festival will be taking place on the weekends of 5 and 6 December and the 12 and 13 December 2015.
