Salcombe FestivalIf there’s one event from the Salcombe events calendar that shouldn’t be missed it’s the Salcombe Festival, which will take place from June 9 to the 11 2011. This will be the festival’s 15th year, and it is an important date in the Salcombe Calendar. Live music, street entertainment and a range of marine-themed activities are just some of the event’s highlights. Salcombe Town RegattaThe Salcombe Town Regatta will take place in Salcombe from August 14 to the 21 2011! This special event in Salcombe has taken place annually for more than 150 years, and includes a fun-filled programme centred around family fun and Salcombe’s maritime involvement. Some of the event’s most popular activities include fun runs, raft races, crab catching, treasure hunts, displays, children’s sports, swimming galas and much more. Whether you choose to join in the fun as a family, or come along and enjoy the lively atmosphere, Salcombe Town Regatta is a great week for all ages!

Merlin Rocket WeekSalcombe Yacht Club will present the action-packed Merlin Rocket Week from July 10th to the 16 2011. The race includes up to 100 entrants and never fails to create a spectacle for those watching from the nearby beaches. Follow the crowds as they'll let you know which beaches to stand on for the best views of this gripping event, as it's not quite the same watching from indoors. Merlin Rocket Week is a popular annual Salcombe event and is not only great fun for the sailors who compete but also for those visiting. The estuary will become a patchwork of sails during the event so a camera is a good idea to capture the sight.

Dartmouth Food FestivalThe Dartmouth Food Festival is set to take place from 20 to the 24 October, and the town will fill with tempting treats, dishes to die for and some once in a lifetime demonstrations by the professionals. The Dartmouth Food Festival is the perfect opportunity to sample Devon’s produce and talents, and celebrity chef guests include Mitch Tonks and Michael Caines. The festival’s programme is packed with events, including Crab Day, food markets throughout and much more. This is one event foodies staying in nearby Salcombe and the South Hams won’t want to miss!
