Weston Sand Sculpture Festival

Weston Sand Sculpture Festival

What's On

What happens when you take some of the world’s most talented sand sculptors, 7 miles of sandy beach and 4000 tons of sand? Well, the results are pretty inspiring. Weston Sand Sculpture Festival has quickly become one of the biggest annual events in the South West, and Weston-super-Mare’s beach is now transformed into a sandy world of statues every summer.

Each year has a new theme, and previous events have seen the sculptures created to the themes of the jungle, Hollywood and fairy stories. Every sculpture is fully created from sand and the sculptors continue to work during the event so visitors can see them in action. You can now become part of the fun too, as podiums behind the sculptures enable visitors to perch behind them and create a photo with a difference...just make sure you don’t lose your balance...

This event is a must for all you amateur sandcastle makers, as remember, everything’s created from sand and water. Part of the beach is dedicated to the event from June to September, and there is a small charge to enter the festival area. The ‘sharp’ edges of the sand grains at Weston make it the best place to host the event, and there’s something about wandering a world of towering sandy sculptures that makes this a great event for all ages. Dogs are welcome on leads.
