Weston-super-Mare hosts some of South West's most exciting events, and the annual RHL Beach Race has been running for more than 30 years. Every year sees the famous sands moulded into daring jumps and obstacles before some of the world’s finest motor bikers compete in a test of endurance, and it makes a fascinating sight.
Riders of all levels and ages descend on the sands to battle it out in the competition and test their skills to the limit, and this is an event that never fails to amaze the crowds. There’s always a programme packed with related events both on and off the beach during the two day event, and it’s become a real festival for the whole family.
The event usually takes place in October, and the dune course is redesigned regularly to keep the riders guessing right up until they’re in the seat. The off-track entertainment varies from year to year, but visitors are guaranteed plenty of entertainment between races.
