Description

Hill House Farm Cottage is a spacious and inviting two bedroom cottage surrounded by breathtaking Somerset scenery. Perched on the edge of the Mendip Hills and with the famous Cheddar Gorge in your eyeline, this is the perfect destination if you want to escape to the country.

On the ground floor you’ll find the bright open plan kitchen and dining area. With pretty views, a beamed ceiling and church pews around the dining table, this space oozes charm and character. The large living area opens out onto the patio and has a cosy open fire to keep you warm during the winter months, and there’s even a half sized pool table for an evening’s entertainment.

On a warm day, there’s nothing better that sitting outside and admiring the spectacular views. At Hill House Farm Cottage there’s a walled garden and patio area complete with table and chairs, why not treat yourself to a bite to eat or a glass of wine in the sunshine?

This traditional retreat is set in an ideal spot if you want to get to know some of Somerset’s famous landmarks, like sailing on the Axbridge reservoir. The Mendip Hills and Cheddar Gorge are both within easy reach and are a walker’s paradise as is Glastonbury Tor. For golf lovers The Isle Of Wedmore Golf course is a mere 2 miles away. Weston-super-Mare’s sandy beach and the historic Wells Cathedral are all within a 30 minute drive.

Beautiful property with fantastic views

Stayed here over May Bank Holiday. Hill house farm is a beautifully maintained property with fantastic views over Uxbridge Reservoir and the Cheddar Hills. It has everything over 4 levels that you can imagine to make it home from home, it makes you feel immediately relaxed come rain or shine.

Lovely scenery lovely house.

The initial impression was of peace combined with a wonderful view over the fields to the Cheddar Gorge in the far distance. The house itself has been thoughtfully and interestingly converted from a cider barn, giving an impression of light and space from the glass frontage and an upstairs sofa and binoculars ( provided ) was an opportunity to relax and look for birds and horses. All rooms were clean and the beds comfortable...most importantly the shower was hot and plentiful !! ....the kitchen was well appointed and a small games room with pool/billiard table was enjoyed by all. As a base for exploring the main tourist areas Bristol, Bath, Cheddar, Wells, Glastonbury, to name a few the house is well sited being 20mns.....40mns away. The friendly owners are on hand if any problems arise, so ..........enjoy, we did.

Wonderful holiday home

We stayed here for a week in August and were fortunate to have brilliant weather. Lots to see in the local area, for us (family of four, 2 daughters 11 and 13). So close to Cheddar you can walk it across fields. The accommodation was fantastic. Lots of space, and fantastic views across to Cheddar. Early morning and late evening photos were stunning. The owners were wonderfully helpful, taking the time to tell us where the quiet beaches were, complete with free parking!! I can definitely recommend this as a place to stay, you won't need to bring any of those extra bits with you. Kitchen so well equipped, even a thermos and a food processor available!! A beautiful house in a beautiful setting.

Hill House Farm Cottage

Just enjoyed our third stay in this fantastic holiday house. Clever layout makes the most of the beautiful Somerset countryside, giving ever-changing views from an upstairs seating area. A very well-equipped, clean, spacious house in a lovely location, within easy reach of many local attractions including Cheddar Gorge, Wells Cathedral, Weston-super-Mare. Excellent walks from the doorstep. Helpful friendly owners live next door. I cannot find any fault with Hill House Farm Cottage and would highly recommend this property.
