Description

Amber Lodge is one of the largest lodges on site and has one bedroom, but is the same size as a standard two bedroom lodge. Consequently, the bedroom suite and the living area are both exceptionally spacious and airy with wonderful views.

You'll find a super king size bed (6ft), high thread count cotton bed linen, 40” 3D Smart TV and solid oak chests of drawers in the bedroom. Relax in, and enjoy, the double ended bath, walk-in shower and underfloor heating in the large en suite bathroom.

The open plan living area encompasses areas for relaxing, studying, cooking and dining. Couples can snuggle up on a comfortable three seater sofa, enjoying the views, watching the 48” Smart TV or listening to music on the Bose CD player or the Sonos Play 3 system. For those preferring to read or with work to do, there is a reclining armchair with footstool, and a console with lighting for reading or laptop usage. The kitchen is exceptionally well provided with everything that a cook might need and the dining area looks out to splendid views to the south and west.

Amber Lodge offers superb views of the Mendip Hills – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty –which can be enjoyed from living areas and bedroom alike, or while sipping something bubbly in the hot tub or relaxing on the sun loungers. Guests can also dine al fresco on the large wrap around decking complete with barbeque, while savouring the Somerset countryside.

Strawberryfield Park is perfectly positioned for exploring everything Somerset has to offer. The historic city of Wells is within easy reach, famous for its Cathedral, Bishop’s Palace and Market Square. The beautiful city of Bath is also a great place for a day out. Just up the road from the lodge you will find the Cheddar Gorge - the site of the Cheddar show caves, where Britain's oldest complete human skeleton, Cheddar Man, estimated to be over 9,000 years old, was found in 1903. You'll also be a short drive away from Wookey Hole Caves and Longleat House and Safari Park. For those looking to make the most of the sun, you can escape to the coast in next to no time at all with Weston-Super-Mare and Burnham-on-Sea both close by. With all these brilliant places on your doorstep, you'll never be short of things to do.

Amber Lodge - Perfect

Recently stayed at this lodge with my boyfriend for a short break. Everything about the holiday was fantastic and I could not fault the lodge. Location is fantastic, easy to get to and is about 40 minutes from Bristol and 1 hour from Bath. There are good local amenities and the actual lodge was easy to find. We were greeted with a very warm welcome and were supplied with a very nice welcome package and there was milk in the fridge! The lodge had everything we could have needed and more and even had a few luxury touches such as robes and slippers, which was a lovely touch. The setting of the lodge is very peaceful and we instantly felt very at home there. The hot tub was a great added bonus and it was lovely to sit in watching the sun go down over the beautiful surroundings. All in all I couldn't be happier with our accommodation and I will definitely be coming back. I would 100% recommend this lodge to anyone looking to get away and enjoy the beautiful countryside in luxury accommodation!

Luxury for the discerning guest in the Mendips

We were blown away by Amber Lodge. We have never before stayed in such a well equipped luxurious property. Normally when we stay in self catering properties or cottages we are pleased to get home as we always miss one home comfort or another. However, the opposite was true on this holiday! We could not have asked for more. Every little touch had been thought of, plus extra luxuries. From the welcome hamper with local delicious cheeses, ale, prosecco, chocolates, a variety of tea bags, to the more mundane things such as cleaning products, dishwasher tablets, washing machine liquid we could not have asked for more. There were throws and rugs for every occasion - indoor and outdoor, picnic hampers, make up removal pads, soap, bathrobes and slippers, games, books, DVDs, Netflix, sewing kits.... You get the picture? The lodge was amazing. Really light, airy and spacious. The open plan sitting, dining, kitchen and study area was beautiful and again well appointed and equipped. The Smart TV was high tech. The bedroom was extremely spacious again, with yet another Smart TV, and the most comfortable Super king bed and oversized pillows with crisp linen which gave us the most excellent nights' sleep we have ever had on holiday. The bathroom was sublime, with a great spacious shower, two shower heads and amazing double ended bath and heated floor and towel rails. To top it all off, the balcony on 2 sides afforded great views over the Mendips and also privacy when in the jacuzzi from which you could watch the sunset. The site manager Mike could not have been more welcoming or friendly. The development is a mile or so out of Cheddar which makes it quieter than if in town, but more picturesque. The only slight down side was a 40 minute walk into town, but we like walking so this was not a problem for us - there is a quiet lane which runs parallel to the main road which makes for a pleasant stroll although it is slightly further and hillier this way! Having said that, we normally go out for meals every night, and on this occasion chose to stay in most nights to take advantage of our beautiful lodge. There is a cider and ale house which does food 20 steps from the lodge at the top end of the small development so this is a convenient option too. We never go back to the same place twice - the world is a big place - but we will make an exception for this property for sure. Thank you to the meticulous owners and to Blue Chip holidays for an amazing week in the sun!

Strawberryfields

What an amazing experience from start to finish. Everything has been so customer focus and professional. The location is 10/10, and I would highly recommend booking through bluechip holidays. The lodge is amazing, we stayed in Amber lodge. All I can say is wow! Honestly Peter and Verity have thought of absolutely everything we didn't need to bring anything except ourselves, clothes and food. We arrived to be greeted by a long belt welcome hamper containing a bottle of wine, bottle of water, pack of biscuits and a lovely hand written welcome card, just a lovely touch. They had put a pint of milk in the fridge, tea and coffee for a couple of days worth... In fact they had thought of all the things that you may forget to bring e.g. Washing up liquid, cooking oil, dishwasher tabs, tea towels you name it, it was there. The lodge was beautifully clean and comfortable with lovely decor, it was open plan which was great. Patio doors leading of onto decking where the hot tub was found! So clean and amazing we went in it everyday and the best of it no time limits. If you wanted to use the hot tub at midnight you could. The bed was massive and comfortable, smart tv, another set of patio doors which again gave you access to the hot tub. Bathroom had large walk in shower, large bath and large his n hers sink. At the top of the lane you had a cider barn which was rustic but had a great selection of ciders, wines and beers. The locals are so friendly and helpful. As you probably can tell we absolutely loved our stay and will be going back.

Wonderful lodge in Cheddar

Recently got back from a week away, staying in Amber Lodge. Was greeted with a handy and thoughtful hamper when we arrived to make our first night easy. The lodge had everything we needed and more! Really enjoyed the hot tub and managed to sunbathe in April! It is in a great location to explore the neighbouring areas. Can't fault anything and looking to return soon. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

Amber Lodge - wonderful, restful break

We stayed in Amber Lodge for one week. The situation of the lodge is perfect - so close to lots of interesting places to visit. The lodge itself is fully equipped - you only need to bring clothes. Everything is of high quality and the lodge is spacious and secluded. We would not hesitate to return and would recommend it to friends and family.

Just....wow!

This property is absolutely faultless, from the moment you arrive the experience is Five star! With high quality furnishings and a smart TV in the living room and bedroom, a Bose stereo and of course the hot tub, you could not ask for more! The kitchen is well equipped with pots, pans and utensils so there was no need to take any extras for cooking with like you have to with some other self catering holidays. Arriving to a hamper of goodies, tea, coffee and milk was and extra special touch along with the robes and slippers! Only one downside to this property....I didn't want to come home! Will definitely be booking again!

Absolutely fantastic

We had just got married and rang Blue Chip Holidays to book a lodge we had seen online, that particular lodge wasn't available but the young man I spoke to very helpfully recommended another lodge. Considering we were giving no notice (we wanted to arrive that day) and our tight budget we were totally delighted when we arrived at Amber Lodge. The lodge was 5*, with a hot tub, we were warmly welcomed by the manager and we were surprised with a beautiful hamper and some lovely romantic touches. We hope to return for anniversaries it really was the perfect honeymoon.

Perfect lodge

We have stayed in various lodges before but this is by far the best we have ever stayed in! The amber lodge catered for all of our needs with a smart 3d TV, all of the cooking utensils and equipment you could need, a luxurious hot tub. Even with the groundsmen working on site it was an amazing relaxing holiday, Mike and the rest of the workers were always attentive and paying attention to make sure they was not disturbing us or stopping us enjoying our holiday. The early doors bar offered great local size at reasonable prices. The walk to cheddar is approx 1 1/4 miles if you walk along the lane to avoid the, aim road traffic, this was ideal for us as we love walking. The lodge is in a great location for exploring Bristol, Weston super mare and bath! Normally you miss things from home but his lodge was perfect for us and we will definitely recommend to friends and family and will be looking to book again ASAP!! Thank you for providing a perfect holiday

Peace and privacy

Amber Lodge is an immaculate place, where every last detail has been thought of and you're seen as a valued guest. We had a slight problem with a door-lock which was fixed very fast. The planting around the lodge is attractive and makes the tub area very private: you hardly notice people in the neighbouring lodges. Amber Lodge is designed to catch as much sun as possible during the day, which also makes it very light inside the open-plan lounge-diner. The views are beautiful, as is the 'green' roof. The nearby cider barn does a limited range of food (beware the strength of the chilli!) but a good range of cider and a couple of draft beers and you can find excellent fresh fruit and veg at the farm shop a short drive or longer walk away. Cheddar and Wells have supermarkets and there's a good range of pubs, cafes and take-aways in the area. Great for our short break, but we wished we were staying for longer

Fabulous 4 night break

This was our second time to Amber lodge and once again it was a relaxing and wonderful short break. Bluechip holidays help to make the whole experience straight forward and their communication is great. We will return to Strawberryfield Park again for relaxation in the hot tub, the local cider, cheese and warm welcome from Mike the park owner.

Amber Lodge, Strawberryfield Park - WOW!

WOW! Three times my husband said that as he entered Amber Lodge for the first time & I had to agree - great place, lovely setting and very well placed for discovering Somerset. Mike met us as we pulled up to the lodge with a friendly hello & some local info, inside was everything we needed and more! The hamper of local goods & welcome card was a lovely touch & very appreciated. We had a relaxing short break & enjoyed unwinding in the hot tub after sightseeing & shopping.....we would highly recommended this park & property.
