Clavelshay Barn, BridgwaterIt would be a shame to stay in accommodation in Somerset without at least one meal in a real barn, but worry not – we’ve found Clavelshay Barn in Bridgwater! Housed inside a real stone barn in the beautiful Quantock Hills, this restaurant dates back to 1700 and has a lovely country feel to it. The barn has been converted using only natural materials, and the ever-changing art exhibitions of local artists’ work mean there’s plenty to look at too. Serving up country dishes with a modern twist, Clavelshay Barn is THE place to enjoy local produce, and may we recommend the hog roasts?!

There’s more good news, Demetris Taverna also offers a take away option, so guests of self-catering Somerset accommodation needn’t even leave it. If your stay in accommodation in Somerset falls on the last Friday of the month you can go along to an exclusive Green Night, but be ready to join in the traditions and dances!
