With so much history just waiting to be discovered throughout the town, the Shrewsbury Museum & Art Gallery’s always a good place to start if you want to get to know the area a little better. Set in a series of buildings (ranging from a music hall to a medieval town house don’t you know), the museum manages to bring the town’s past to life in a way that makes it a lovely place to visit for all ages.
The old meets the new throughout the attraction, and you’ll find more than a thousand artefacts that span more than 750 years of history. The music hall’s a piece of local history in itself, and when you step inside just imagine how it felt to be a visitor in the days when The Beatles, Charles Dickens and other famous faces entertained the crowds inside.
There’s a lively exhibition programme too, so the chances are there’ll be an exhibit or event to make your visit memorable too, and the team are always one step ahead in their mission to make the museum inspiring, engaging and hands-on for the whole family.
