It may seem all sandy and family friendly by day, but the Isle of Wight also has something of a reputation as being one of the spookiest spots in the UK after nightfall, and it’s even known as ‘Ghost Island’. So what better place to spend Halloween and join the fun of Isle of Fright, an event that sees all kinds of attractions host special activities to make things extra creepy during the spookiest season.
You’ll find it all, from ghost walks that’ll have you jumping out of your skin, to the chance to carve your own pumpkin and even paranormal investigations. There’s a Halloween themed carnival in Shanklin on October 25th, so prepare for illuminations and digital projections with a macabre theme to get you into the spirit (sorry, we had to!) of things.
If you’re feeling extremely brave you can muster your courage and head to Park of the Dead on October 9th, which sees a whole series of scary sessions designed to get your adrenaline pumping, and there’s also a family-friendly tour for those of you with little monsters of your own in tow.
