Rock & Polzeath BeachesBeach holidays in Rock are famous for their watersports and activities. The sheltered waters make Rock a haven for sailing boats and water-based sports, so you’ll be treated to the sight of windsurfers, water-skiers and coloured sail boats throughout the summer. Rock and Polzeath holiday cottages are perfect for beach-goers who thrive on an energetic atmosphere with plenty to do. |

Daymer BayJust along the coast, Daymer Bay is another lovely beach in Polzeath. Although the surf here pales in comparison to Rock and Polzeath beaches, this hidden gem of a beach is a great find for those with young children. Daymer Bay is great for calmer water sports, such as swimming, canoeing and boating, and you can walk for what feels like miles when the tide goes out. If you wander along the beach you’ll find plenty of rock pools just waiting to be explored by small hands, and the broad sandy beach is even sheltered.

Constantine BayIf you fancy popping to Padstow during a beach holiday in Rock, Constantine Bay is worth a look. This small village just 3 miles from Padstow offers one of the area’s finest beaches. Like so many in north Cornwall, this is another great beach for surf, and there are lifeguards on hand throughout the summer so you can practice or swim with peace of mind. Dogs are welcome on Constantine Bay all year round, so if you’re on a dog-friendly beach holiday in Rock and find it timed with the seasonal dog ban on Rock Beach, this is an alternative.

Hawkers CoveHawkers Cove, just half a mile from Padstow, is less developed than some of the Padstow and Rock beaches, but if you like peace and quiet and aren’t too worried about having shops and cafes on the beach then you’ll enjoy the quiet nature to be found here. It’s best to walk if you can, but you decide to drive you can park in a nearby field belonging to Lellizzick Farm. There are no facilities at the beach, although there’s plenty of sand at low tide, and is you walk northwards to Stepper Point you’ll find a Coast Watch lookout with incredible views.

Rock BeachRock Beach sits on the Camel estuary and faces Padstow, across the water. Its large sands are smoothed by the estuary waters, making beach holidays in Rock some of the UK’s most popular. The estuary is naturally sheltered, so its calm waters make it ideal for sailing, and you’ll find something of a jet set on the beach as many moor their yachts in the waters too. Rock Beach is well-connected to Padstow by a ferry and water taxis, so if you feel like exploring on the other side of the water during summer there are always plenty of services.

Polzeath BeachPolzeath beach holidays are another favourite in Cornwall, and Polzeath Beach has a reputation as something of a surfing hotspot! While surfers flock to experience the huge Atlantic rollers, families seek out the safe, sandy beach to unwind during their holiday. This beach has all of the expected amenities for a convenient day by the sea, and it’s made all the more special by the unspoilt scenery that surrounds it. The sandy beach has room for everyone, no matter what your activity, and the beach makes the starting point for the perfect walk.
