Trevellas PorthTrevellas Porth, near St Agnes is an interesting Perranporth beach. This beach is quite pebbly, and it’s surrounded by disused mine workings and engine houses that give the beach a reflective air. Trevellas Beach is one of the more peaceful in the area as it’s tucked in the next valley from St Agnes, and if you time a walk through Trevellas Coombe at the right time you can walk to Trevaunance Cove at low tide. There’s a fairly small car park close to the beach, and dogs are welcome throughout the yeark.

Porthtowan BeachWhere do we start with Porthtowan Beach?Another of the UK’s leading beaches for surfing, Porthtowan Beach offers silky white sand, welcoming dunes and plenty of amenities. You’ll find a car park, shops, a bar and toilets close by, and there is also a lifeguarding service for safe swimming throughout the summer. Dogs are banned from the beach between Easter and September, so if you’re on a Perranporth beach holiday with young children this is perfect if you fancy venturing further afield one day.

Chapel BeachChapel Porth Beach is just 2 miles from St Agnes, and is another favourite during beach holidays in Perranporth! Although the beach can shrink a lot at high tide, a beautiful sandy expanse is revealed at low tide which connects to the closest beach –Porthtowan. Chapel Porth is a surfing hotspot, and attracts surfers from all over Europe to try its waves, so even if you remain on the beach you can sit and watch them show off their skills. The beach has car parking, toilets, a seasonal life guarding service and a beach cafe, so it’s convenient for families.

Perranporth BeachWhere else to start a Perranporth beach holiday than with Perranporth Beach?! Also known as Perran Sands, this could well be the perfect stretch of shore for those on family beach holidays. Perranporth Beach boasts 2 spectacular miles of sand, and it’s almost as wide too! It’s also one of Cornwall’s leading surf spots, so there’s always plenty to see and do, and a lifeguard ensures safe bathing and swimming for all ages. The north end of the beach can be crowded at times, but due to its size a walk further down will lead you to a quiet space for your family to relax.

Trevaunance CoveAnother choice during Perranporth beach holidays is Trevaunance Cove, in nearby St Agnes. This sandy beach had lots of character, and exploring the many caves around it makes for great fun during a visit too! There’s a lifeguard during high season, good surf (though not quite so much as Perranporth Beach) and Trevaunance Cove, just as short walk away, is a brilliant spot for fishing at high tide, so Dad may want to bring his fishing tackle along. You’ll find a large car park at Trevaunance Cove, and a snack shop right on the sand, so you won’t have to pack up and leave the beach when hunger strikes. |
