My favourite holiday so far has been my family’s trip to Preston Sands in Paignton in July 2008. My Mummy was so happy to see a blue sky when we arrived after weeks of wet weather at home that she took a photograph of it!
We had a really nice apartment on the ground floor of Belvedere Court and I loved it because there was a row of pretty beach huts to look at out of the patio windows and the beautiful beach beyond. We had a friendly seagull too! – It used to come knocking on the window with its beak every day as I think some other visitors must have given it some food.
I had so much fun on that holiday. The sun shone everyday and I loved pottering about on the beach with my brother while mummy and daddy relaxed and read books. In the evenings we used to play football and cricket with the other kids on the green. There was a play area as well.
We had some fun days out too! We went to Paignton Zoo and my favourite animal there was the meerkats – you can go right inside their enclosure which has special transparent tubing. We walked from Dawlish to Dawlish Warren along the front and saw the trains. We had a boat ride from Kingswear to Dartmouth and then we enjoyed an ice cream as we listened to some music by the bandstand.
We had a really great day at Haldon Forest Country Park where my Mummy and older brother tried ‘Go Ape’ while my Daddy and I followed the play trail. The Play Trail is a mile long walk with lots of interesting play stops on the way.
My best day out by far was the day we spent at Becky Falls Woodland Park which is in Newton Abbott. There they have small animals to pet and walks to go on with a quiz trail to follow. It was such a hot day that Mummy took along my swimming things and I’m glad she did because I tried out the boulder clamber and got very wet indeed but it was such fun and it really cooled me down on a hot day. Here is a picture of me playing in the water.
I had a fabulous time when we stayed at Preston Sands on my holiday with Blue Chip Holidays. In fact, I’ve talked about it so much that we’re going to Belvedere Court again this summer. I wonder if my seagull will still be around?
