Nestled in the countryside of the North York Moors National Park, Woodland Cottages is a collection of four beautiful holiday properties. Set on a Grade II listed farm close to Harwood Dale, the breathtaking barn conversions blend original features such as wooden beams with contemporary, stylish designs, and each includes use of the site's blissful hot tub.
Perfect for a break away as a family, with those friends you just don’t get to see enough of these days, or just for two, the cottages’ views across the surrounding woodland make them the perfect properties to take some time out in and just enjoy your surroundings. Each cottage offers Wi-Fi to keep you connected to those back home, use of the hot tub to make things even more special, and a cot and a high chair for new mums and dads (just ask when you place your booking).
Now for the area’s activities…with Harwood Dale Forest on one side and Broxa Forest on the other, the cottages couldn’t be better placed for those of you keen to spend some time walking woodland trails and cycling. In fact, the site’s home to a collection of bikes available for guests to use, so make sure you ask when you make your booking so we can reserve one for you.
Your hot tub awaits
With the North Yorks National Park on your doorstep we think you’ll be in need of some time out with your feet up when you get home after a busy day exploring, and we have to say the bubbling shared hot tub makes a very welcome sight after a long day.
For those days when you’re happy to stick close to your cottage and enjoy one of the nature trails that wind their way across the grounds, you’ll be able to look forward to stepping into the bubbles for some true time out in the fresh air.
You know those holiday evenings that are all about chatting over the day with a glass of wine in hand? Just imagine that in the hot tub, and it’s just moments from the cottages…
Tucked between Harwood Dale Forest on the one side and the ancient Broxa Forest on the other, our Woodland Cottages collection are popular with those of you who look at a stay in Yorkshire as one big excuse to get outside and adventure.
If you fancy taking the path less travelled for a day, Harwood Dale forest has the feel of being miles from the beaten track, and the fact that it’s pretty much as it’s been for centuries only makes it feel all the more peaceful.
If you’re feeling inspired by the guys who took part in the Tour de Yorkshire, help yourself to one of the bikes that are left onsite for guests to enjoy, pick a direction and set off for the day. The winding lanes and pathways that surround Harwood Dale could have been made for lazy bike rides.
Set on the grounds of a traditional Yorkshire farm, Woodland Cottages is a peaceful setting for those days that are all about lying back with a book and al fresco dining in between. You’ll have the run of the shared lawn, and it’s been thoughtfully dotted with picnic benches so you can gather the family for meals in the sunshine.
We know what you’re thinking…barbeques! Well, as there’s a barbeque available on request we can safely say they’ve pretty much thought of everything. If you’re staying as a group, the grassy areas mean you can enjoy time out together, even when you don’t feel like doing much at all. You’ll have just the spot to lie back, listen to the countryside and catch up. Bliss.
One of the things we love about Woodland Cottages is that they've thought of everything, and there's even a games room on site for those occasional wet days when you need to find an indoor way to have a great time as a family.
If you're staying with the kids, the games room means they can while away many a happy evening showing off their skills and enjoying time out, and this spacious, friendly room has a welcoming feel that makes it a relaxing space to spend time.
