Porth Beach Bonfire NightThe Mermaid Inn at Porth Beaches will hold the annual Porth Beach Bonfire Night, so why not come along and watch the stunning display beside Porth Beach? This Newquay event is popular with families and visitors, and is a great way to light up a chilly November! The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the display will start around the same time. Entry to the bonfire night and fireworks display is free, although staff will be collecting spare change.

British National Surf ChampionshipsNewquay’s beautiful Fistral Beach will host the British National Surf Championships during September, and lucky visitors to the town will have the chance to watch the fascinating competition. Men, women and seniors will battle for their respective titles in the annual event, making a unique spectacle! Fistral Beach is a favourite with surfers from all over the world, and saw the birth of the sport in the UK.

Fish Keepers WeekendThe Blue Reef Aquarium hosts the Fish Keepers Weekend from 13 until the 14 November. This special event will give fish enthusiasts the chance to come along and find out everything there is to know when it comes to the care of fish. Trained aquarists will hold talks demonstrating how to keep fish successfully and responsibly. The Blue Reef Aquarium is home to all kinds of rare fish, both from the local Cornish waters and from around the world. The glass viewing tunnel is a great opportunity to get up close to some of the underwater residents – including sharks!
